Things to Do: Snow Day Edition

A little dusting never hurt anyone right?

If anyone knows me, they know I love, love, LOVE snow! I was so excited when the first flurry fell yesterday afternoon.  I just love how over a little bit of time a whole world can come in and silences the world surrounding us. Plus not to mention, everything closes down, even if it's just for a day!!

Like most universities, my classes were canceled today (YAY!), so what to do with my day off…
Here are some great suggestions to do on your day off:

1. RELAX~ It's your day off! Take time out for yourself and do something for you!

2. Paint your nails~  For me, this is my go to stress reliever! There's nothing like a good party nail!! Today's color: Essie's "Over The Edge"and "Set in Stone" Shop it Here!

3. Watch some movies and build a fire. I love being cozy and with snow outside on the ground, there's not a better chance! As you can see in the picture above,  I'm watching some great Harry Potter movies!

4. Don't forget to enjoy the snow! Go for a walk, play with your dogs, build a snowman, or even have a snow ball fight!

5. Do some cleaning indoor! I have a little problem with making sure everything is neat and clean, so I'm constantly busying myself with new projects such as closet cleaning.

CLEARLY, my dog was enjoying some snow!

Stay Warm and Safe!

Tuesday Tunes (All Too Well)

All Too Well

"It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well…"

Lately, it seems like this is my go to song whenever I am driving home from work, classes, etc. or even getting ready in the morning. I have always adored this song when we it came out first on the album, Red. I find that this song, like many other Taylor Swift songs, say the words that I do not want to say out loud. In my opinion, it is important that we connect to music the way we do, especially when these songs bring back certain memories.

(If you could only imagine, I was so excited that she performed this at the Grammys this past weekend, head flips and all!!) Link is below :)

I think for many people, when we hear this song, we think of happy times and how everything in life can changed. We all learn that things in life change quickly, and sometimes those decisions are out of our hands. BUT we have to remember that everything happens for a reason, rather we know those reasons or not. I think everyone has been through a relationship where they think the future was that, but it always does not turn out the way as planned. I love this song because it just reminds you that no matter what you are always going to remember it.

My favorite part of this song is:

Maybe we got lost in translation, maybe I asked for too much,
And maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up.
Running scared, I was there, I remember it all too well.

Hey, you call me up again just to break me like a promise.
So casually cruel in the name of being honest.
I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here
'Cause I remember it all, all, all... too well.

Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it
I'd like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it
After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own
Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone

After getting out of a two and a half year relationship, suddenly and unexpected I might add, I did not know what exactly happened or what when "wrong." However,  I did know there is nothing I could have done about it. This song stood out to me because you know that the magic in the relationship is not there anymore, but you still have to move on, even if you remember it all too well. However, the most important thing I took from this song was it is okay to remember it. It's okay to be happy about that time you had with that someone, because you would not be the person you are today without that experience. You can also take alway that with that happiness, it's okay to be sad that you do not have it anymore, and that everything can change so quickly. It's a process forgetting someone and everything you have gone through, but sometimes it is okay to remember it all too well...

Favorite Fridays (Sex & the City Edition)

Sex & the City

Fridays are meant for favorites, right?!?

        Pinterest
Where do I even began with Sex & the City???

Sex & the City is one of those television shows that no matter what you are doing, you will stop to watch. I like to believe that we all have a little Carrie Bradshaw in us, rather it be from our personality to our style. We all day dream about the couture, the friendship, and the men, from one of the most iconic televisions series. It has without a doubt changed the way of life for ladies of all ages. You learn life lessons about guys, fashion, sex, love, friendship, and those lessons will stay with you for the rest of your life. You see the shows or even the movies and immediately, we all wish we could look as gorgeous as Carrie does in every episode. Flawless and creative is the best way to describe Carrie Bradshaw. She takes risks and goes all out in the finest couture. Watching just one show of Sex & the City will leave you in desperate need to go shopping.
You will soon learn I love quotes, especially Sex & the City ones. One of my favorite sayings from this show is, "I like to see my money where I can see it, hanging in my closet." -Sex and the City. I mean who would not want to have this kind of lifestyle!? I know that is my motto in life about my closet and money!!

If you have never seen an episode or watched the movies, I suggest doing both, as soon as possible. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will believe in happy endings. You will want to walk out you door or jump online immediately and add touches of Carrie Bradshaw to every one of your outfits.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and LOOK fabulous!!!

Once Upon a Time... A Beginning of Blogging

Here's to what life has to offer!

When you are growing up, you read stories about princesses, castles, and happy endings. You dream about getting older and becoming that princess who falls in love and lives happily ever after. Little did we know as children, life is not that easy, but although it is a story nonetheless. With heartbreaks, laughter, and a whole lot of singing and dancing, a lesson is learned every day. However, like those fairytales, there are characters that affect you in every way possible. You learn the importance of family and the unconditional love that comes from them. You face boys who look prince charming, but are really just bad guys with the perfect eyes and the perfect smile. You meet unexpected friends who become like family. You face evil people who will do everything in their power to make you look weak. Life is full of challenges. Rather it be learning to ride a bicycle or getting an A on a test in college level accounting or chemistry. Trust me, challenges come at every age in life.

Although, I am only twenty, I have been through a lot in my life. However, I would not be the person I am today without those challenges and successes. I have learned you cannot live life with regret and guilt. With that said, I am firm believer that everything happens reason, even though sometimes we might not know all the answers. Life is made for mistakes and second chances. It is made for little sleep, big dreams, and lots of sweet tea. It is made for laughter, forehead kisses, and courage. It is made for shopping trips, late night baking, and even car dancing. It is made for letting go of your past. It’s made for discovering the person who you are meant to be and never letting go of that. You must learn that life is too short for arguments and hatred, and that a good deed in life goes a long way.

So here’s to new beginning… a new chapter in this fairytale of mine. Here’s to challenging myself more than have I ever done before, like blogging every day. Here’s to meeting new people and learning new ideas. Here’s to forgetting certain things that should not matter anymore and letting go the people that came along with them. Here’s to getting caught up in new books and seeing new places. Here’s to drinking one too many Starbucks and staying up too late. Here’s to daydreaming and turning those dreams into reality. Here’s to becoming closer to God and loving my family more. Here’s to wearing an imaginary crown every day. Here’s to my twenties and all the great stories and lessons that are to come along with it…

In honor of Throwback Thursday:

(As you can see, I was a big believer in the princess part at an early age!)
