Here's to what life has to offer!
When you are growing up, you read stories about princesses, castles, and happy endings. You dream about getting older and becoming that princess who falls in love and lives happily ever after. Little did we know as children, life is not that easy, but although it is a story nonetheless. With heartbreaks, laughter, and a whole lot of singing and dancing, a lesson is learned every day. However, like those fairytales, there are characters that affect you in every way possible. You learn the importance of family and the unconditional love that comes from them. You face boys who look prince charming, but are really just bad guys with the perfect eyes and the perfect smile. You meet unexpected friends who become like family. You face evil people who will do everything in their power to make you look weak. Life is full of challenges. Rather it be learning to ride a bicycle or getting an A on a test in college level accounting or chemistry. Trust me, challenges come at every age in life.
Although, I
am only twenty, I have been through a lot in my life. However, I would not be
the person I am today without those challenges and successes. I have learned you
cannot live life with regret and guilt. With that said, I am firm believer that
everything happens reason, even though sometimes we might not know all the answers.
Life is made for mistakes and second chances. It is made for little sleep, big
dreams, and lots of sweet tea. It is made for laughter, forehead kisses, and
courage. It is made for shopping trips, late night baking, and even car
dancing. It is made for letting go of your past. It’s made for discovering the
person who you are meant to be and never letting go of that. You must learn
that life is too short for arguments and hatred, and that a good deed in life
goes a long way.
So here’s to new beginning… a new chapter in this fairytale of mine. Here’s to challenging myself more than have I ever done before, like blogging every day. Here’s to meeting new people and learning new ideas. Here’s to forgetting certain things that should not matter anymore and letting go the people that came along with them. Here’s to getting caught up in new books and seeing new places. Here’s to drinking one too many Starbucks and staying up too late. Here’s to daydreaming and turning those dreams into reality. Here’s to becoming closer to God and loving my family more. Here’s to wearing an imaginary crown every day. Here’s to my twenties and all the great stories and lessons that are to come along with it…
In honor of Throwback Thursday:
(As you can see, I was a big believer in the princess part at an early age!)
With Love,
